Brooklyn state senator faces criminal charges
A Brooklyn state senator is under fire Saturday after he allegedly assaulted a newspaper photographer.
State Sen. Kevin Parker smashed a camera belonging to a New York Post photographer Friday night, police say. The photographer was outside Parker's Flatbush home trying to get a picture of the state senator.
Neighbors say the two exchange words and Parker was furious the photographer was there. Parker, who represents the 21st district, now faces third-degree criminal mischief charges, according to police.
Parker also allegedly kicked the reporter's driver side door, causing more than $1,000 worth of damage between the car and camera.
