2 charged with leaving toddler on bus

Police have released the identities of two people who were arrested and charged with leaving a 3-year-old boy on a locked school bus Wednesday.
According to authorities, bus driver Wayne Clescere and matron Candice Knight were taken into custody after teachers at Young Israel of Brighton Beach Yeshiva spotted the toddler on the bus parked on Neptune Avenue and called police.
Tracey Simpson, who discovered the boy aboard the bus, says he was very frightened.
"He was on the bus...crying and hysterical," Simpson says. "We got out [a] supervisor and called police."
Clescere and Knight were charged with endangering the welfare of a child. The 3-year-old was taken to Coney Island Hospital for a check-up. Police say he was not hurt.
