Day care center prank leads to evacuation

A day care center in Canarsie was evacuated Wednesday after reports of an explosion.
Employees at the Clarkson Early Childhood Center say they heard a loud sound and saw a white substance spraying into the room.
Firefighters and a Hazmat team on the scene determined that someone set off a fire extinguisher.
Staff members of the day care center and parents who rushed to pick up their children say they are relieved that no one was hurt.
"I'm glad the kids are OK, I'm glad we're OK," says teacher Marsha Thompson. "It was a prank and nothing too serious, but it was still kind of scary."
