Protest held against eatery named for Obama
Local leaders led a protest Monday outside an East New York restaurant that was renamed after President Obama.
The Rev. Al Sharpton and Councilman Charles Barron joined other local leaders and residents to rally outside the Rutland Road eatery, which is now called Obama Fried Chicken. The owner claims he changed the name because he admires the president, but some local residents find it offensive to the black community.
The leaders told News 12 Brooklyn they contacted the White House to enforce copyright infringement.
