Brooklyn man recovering after restaurant assault

A Brooklyn man is recovering from surgery Thursday, one day after an argument in a downtown restaurant led to an assault.

The incident happened Wednesday night in Dallas BBQ on Livingston Street. Denise Roberts says her son, DeAndre, and his girlfriend were minding their own business when a couple they did not know provoked an argument that led to a physical interaction. She says the man broke a glass over DeAndre, which slashed his neck.

The victim?s mother is grateful to the witnesses who helped her injured son and assisted police in capturing the suspects. Roberts did add that she wished people would have intervened before it became physical.

Police say that the suspects face several charges including assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon.
