Last-minute shoppers packed Fulton Street Mall stores Sunday in search of bargains and great holiday gifts.

The Fulton Mall Improvement Association claims that more than 230 stores wedged between Fulton Avenue, Adams Street and Flatbush Avenue draw close to 37 million shoppers annually. The association says the stores generate $250,000,000 in sales each year.

While customers have their choice of big-box retailers and chain stores, many say they keep coming back to the strip mall for great deals and local character.

The mall is set to undergo a $15 million makeover in the coming years.
