Police are searching for leads after an officer was shot on patrol Friday morning.
Authorities say Officer Bryan O?Byrne was a passenger in a marked police car in Bedford-Stuyvesant. They say his arm was leaning out the window and a bullet grazed him. Police say the shots came from the roof of a school building on Bainbridge and Patchen avenues.
Officials say there are hundreds of officers in the air and on the ground searching for anyone connected to the shooting.
O?Byrne was taken to Kings County Hospital where he was treated and later released.
Meanwhile, a principal at the school where the shooting took place is calling on community leaders to get more police patrolling the area.
