In the wake of increased gun violence across the borough, elected officials are demanding revised legislation for stronger gun control. State Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera (D-80th District) and City Councilman James Vacca (D-13th District) today announced their support for a new microstamping law. The measure would require bullets to have markings traceable to the registered gun owner. They say the measure would likely curb illegal gun sales and help catch criminals. Gun dealers could also face three months to a year in prison for selling ammunition unequipped with microstamps.
