The MTA is beefing up police patrols on subway lines in The Bronx in an effort to keep commuters safe from potential thieves.
Officials say extra underground marshals will be on patrol Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on the 2, 4, 5, 6 and D lines.
The plan has been three months in the making, when police noticed a spike in early morning subway robberies.
