Elderly man caught by strangers after leap from burning building

A community catch was caught on camera as an elderly man made a leap of faith from his burning apartment into the waiting arms of strangers.
Ronnie Poe, 72, says he miraculously suffered only a bruised heel after tumbling three stories from his Walton Avenue home Thursday afternoon. He says his kitchen caught fire, blocking the front door.
Poe says he first started yelling for help from his bedroom window, but then climbed outside and hung from the ledge while a group of three men and two women gathered below and encouraged him to jump.
Officials say the flames were contained to Poe's apartment, and no one was seriously injured in the fire or the dramatic rescue.
