DOE texting service keeps parents connected
A new mobile texting program is helping parents stay connected as they send their children back to school this year.
The Department of Education (DOE) says parents can simply text "NYC schools" to the number 877-877. They will then receive updates on the school calendar, school programs and other important information.
Parents can send their text and start receiving messages right away.
