BX pharmaceutical workers on strike over new contract
A group of Bronx pharmaceutical workers have gone on strike over details surrounding a new contract.
A representative for union members at Perrigo, located on Bathgate Avenue, said the group is fighting for a bigger raise after their previous contract ended on Sept. 1.
Perrigo's management issued a statement saying, "In order to protect the integrity of Perrigo, they have decided to lock out employees until the recommended final offer is accepted. In the meantime, the company will use existing non-union employees to keep daily operations going." The company added that it is working diligently to resolve the situation.
