A Bronx family is pushing to get a street renamed to honor their late father and the contributions he made to a Belmont neighborhood. Nat Cerini died last month at 66 after battling heart disease and diabetes. He came to Belmont from Italy in 1960 and helped his parents start Roma Luncheonette, a fixture in the neighborhood ever since. Now, the Cerini family wants the corner of 187 Street and Belmont Avenue renamed "Cerini Way" to honor the local businessman and his parents. Cerini's son says his dad helped start a youth soccer club and worked to get a garbage dump turned into a soccer field. He says Cerini also ran a tax business in the neighborhood for more than 30 years.The community board confirms it approved the street renaming. It now heads to city council for a vote.
