BROOKLYN HEIGHTS -

The Squibb Bridge that connects Brooklyn Heights and Brooklyn Bridge Park is open once again.

The popular bridge was closed in 2014 for safety upgrades.

Pedestrians and workers in the area say the bridge is a convenient walkway, and the views of the city attracted tourists just hours after it reopened.

Officials involved in the construction say they hired a new engineering company to oversee the upgrades. They say pedestrians should feel a lot safer while crossing the bridge.
