Ex-NBA player James ‘Fly’ Williams among 13 arrested in drug ring bust spanning BK, BX and upstate NY

A former NBA player is among 13 people arrested in a heroin ring bust, police say.
James "Fly" Williams, who played during the 1970s, allegedly called the shots from Brownsville.
According to authorities, at least one concerned resident tipped off investigators over the summer. The probe stretched from Brooklyn, through the Bronx and into upstate New York.
The operation's Brooklyn distributors allegedly sold drugs in Bed-Stuy, Fort Greene, Bushwick, East New York and Canarsie.
Over a three-month period, the group allegedly unloaded $20 million of heroin in $6 to $10 transactions, many of which took place near the Brownsville Recreation Center, where Williams was often seen.
The dealers allegedly disguised the drugs by stashing them inside water bottles.
Police say tips continue to pour in and more arrests are expected.
