The community in Bath Beach is holding a block party ahead of Ramadan, the holiest time of the year on the Muslim calendar.
Organizers say it's a fun way to educate people about the Muslim holiday and customs.
The event featured henna, colorful clothing, and traditional Middle Eastern food.
Starting Saturday, observant Muslims will abstain from eating and drinking from dawn to dusk for the entire month of Ramadan.
