BROOKLYN -

Police are searching for a group of young men who are accused of assaulting a teenager on board an MTA bus.

Police tell News 12 the five suspects boarded the bus in East New York and attacked the 14-year-old victim just moments after getting on board.

The incident happened on April 28 around 10:30 p.m. on New Lots Avenue near the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue.

Police say they used a box cutter to attack the 14-year-old boy, before stealing his two cellphones and running off.

The teen was taken to Kings County Hospital in serious, but stable condition to be treated for lacerations to his head, arm and back.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
