Bensonhurst collector pays homage to Brooklyn's past

Brooklyn is home to countless treasures, and many can be found in just one Bensonhurst garage.
Steve Campanellos’ 12-car garage has throwback items, including old automobiles, old cotton candy machines, slot machines and cigarette machines.
He says everything in the garage relates to Brooklyn in some way.
Campanellos is a lifelong Brooklyn resident who says that despite all the changes throughout the years, his collection is a little time capsule of what once was.
"If I want to relax, I’ll simply come in here, I'll turn music on and sit down and I'll reminisce," says Campanellos.
Campanellos says his playland often turns strangers into friends through a shared wistfulness of simpler times.
"Oh I remember that, I remember this, we did this, and we did that. Did you go here? We went there, and so on and so forth. And you end up carrying a conversation with a total stranger," he says.
