Neighbors in an East Flatbush community say they are shocked over how a routine police call ended with an officer fighting for his life.
News 12 spoke with the owner of the home on Tilden Avenue where police officers, including Officer Dalsh Veve responded to initial reports of gunshots that turned out to be fireworks.
She says there were no fireworks or suspicious people at her party, only kids celebrating her grandson's birthday.
She believes the fireworks must have happened in the street after the party was over.
As News 12 reported, Officer Veve approached a teen in a Honda at the scene and ended up being dragged for two and a half blocks.
He is in critical condition at Kings County Hospital.
