New EMT proposes to girlfriend at FDNY academy graduation

As 144 new FDNY emergency medical technicians graduated from the academy Thursday, one of them got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend.
Crown Heights native Anthony Gadison proposed to his girlfriend of four years, Jackielia, in front of his mother, son and everyone else in the audience.
She didn't expect a thing.
One by one, Gadison's classmates handed Jackielia roses. Then the new graduate approached her from behind, gave her a single white rose and dropped to one knee.
"Throughout this whole academy, she helped me out," Gadison said later. "She motivated me. She made sure I got up. She made sure I studied. This is not only my day, it's her day too."
She said yes.
