Two high school seniors native to Brooklyn are being honored for their musical talents with a scholarship that will grant them each with $25,000 over the course of their college careers.
Emma Peleg, 18, and Hale Sheffield, 17, who attend Third Street Music School, are recipients of the New York Community Trust Harris Scholarship.
Peleg, who plays the saxophone, and Sheffield, who plays the guitar, tell News 12 that they've been playing for over 10 years.
While the two will utilize their scholarship to continue studying music, Peleg says she plans to major in engineering and Sheffield says she plans to double major in art history and women's studies.
