A new affordable housing building opened its doors Monday.
Borough President Eric Adams joined developer Greenland Forest City Partners for the official opening.
Unlike other new developments that have a mix of market-rate and affordable apartments, 298-unit 535 Carlton is fully dedicated to low-cost housing.
Studio units cost $548 a month. The cheapest three-bedroom apartment goes for $800.
That helped Crystal Patterson and her teen son find a new home after spending three years in temporary housing.
The building includes a gym, a rooftop vegetable garden and a playroom for children.
