Highly anticipated DeKalb Market Hall opens

The so-called "biggest" food hall in Brooklyn opened Friday after two years of anticipation.
The DeKalb Market Hall was packed on its first day of business, and it includes satellite locations for Ample Hills Creamery, Lioni's Heroes and even the Lower East Side's famed Katz's Deli.
In all, the market covers 60,000 square feet.
"This is the best thing that ever happened to Brooklyn, because we needed places to eat down here," says Elsie Sloman, an enthusiastic new customer.
The hall's curator says that diverse food was a mainstay in the project since its inception.
