Some Williamsburg residents say the horns on the recently launched New York City Ferry are just too loud.
Resident Heather Savata says she understands that horn signals are required by the U.S. Coast Guard, but the horns on these new boats in particular need to be toned down.
"The problem is just the pitch and the sound of the horn,” she says.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation tells News 12 it is in the process of improving the horn volumes.
Savata says she got a similar response when she reached out to New York City Ferry on social media.
The ferry runs as early as 6:41 a.m. and go as late as 10:27 p.m.
