BK woman’s nonprofit helps others afford college

A Brooklyn woman created a program to help dozens of women all around Brooklyn not only go to college but stay there and excel.
Nitiya Walker is the founder of Seeds of Fortune, a nonprofit she started from her college dorm room four years ago.
Walker says she started the nonprofit after realizing how incredibly complicated and draining the college admission process really is for potential students.
The Bedford-Stuyvesant native has helped 25 women get into the best college they possibly can.
Walker says since the program's been around, her scholars have received more than $1 million in college scholarships.
