The world's biggest stars gathered in Los Angeles Sunday night to celebrate the best black artists in film, TV and music at the annual BET Awards.
Music was the main focus of the night and included several performances, kicked off by Bruno Mars opening the show. Mars also took home the award for Best Male R&B Pop Artist.
Chicago's Chance the Rapper won Best New Artist and the Humanitarian Award, which came with a taped message from fellow Chicago native, former First Lady Michelle Obama.
Though she wasn't at the ceremony after giving birth to twins just days ago, Beyonce took home a viewer's choice award and Best Female R&B Pop Artist.
Bronx native and rapper Remy Ma delivered an emotional speech after winning for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, dethroning her rival Nicki Minaj for the first time in seven years.
Taraji P. Henson won Best Actress, while Mahershala Ali won Best Actor. A Lifetime Achievement award was presented to R&B group New Edition. The show was hosted by Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones.
