A funeral was held Saturday in Sunset Park for the 16-month-old girl who was fatally beaten last month.

As News 12 reported, Nylah Lewis was beaten to death, allegedly by her father, Shaquan Taylor, on June 18.

The 19-year-old was watching his baby on Father's Day and claims he was in the shower inside his Coney Island apartment when the baby fell.

However, a hospital official familiar with child abuse says Lewis' injuries, including head trauma and a black eye are consistent with being beaten.

The baby died from her injuries after a week in the hospital. Family members say Lewis was a sweet baby who was always smiling and cuddling with her mother, 17-year-old Tammy Lewis.

Taylor's next court date is July 17.
