Brooklyn Bridge Park hosts July 4th revelers

BROOKLYN BRIDGE PARK -

Despite the relocation of its once-famous Fourth of July fireworks show, residents packed Brooklyn Bridge Park Tuesday to celebrate the holiday.

Some parkgoers played sports at Pier 5. Others barbecued or lounged in the sun.

Visitors from around the country joined Brooklyn residents at the park as pleasant weather held.

Even a European visitor told News 12 they were celebrating the holiday -- the United States' 241st birthday.
