The Formula ePrix car race will soon be speeding into Brooklyn.
Workers are busy building the seating for the outdoor event at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in Red Hook.
Formula E organizers say they are expecting thousands of people to show up to the event, but they're asking for ticket-holders not to drive.
"We are encouraging people to actually go to Barclays Center and we have a shuttle bus service running from Barclays Center that will bring people right here to the racetrack and get them back once the race is over," says Formula E's Mike Hopper.
The New York City Economic Development Corporation says local businesses in Red Hook will benefit from the electric car racing event.
The Formula ePrix speeds into Red Hook July 15 and 16.
