Bronx students’ short film shows dangers of cyberbullying
Posted: Updated:Two Bronx students made a short film to show the potential damage cyberbullying can cause.
Nicole Barbot and Kia Mahootian filmed “His Story” in a Brooklyn apartment. It’s about a boy whose picture was leaked online showing he was transgender.
The work is through a program for young filmmakers called Mythic Bridge.
The film won second place in the AT&T Cyberbullying Competition and was picked to be part of a larger project called “There’s a Soul Behind that Screen.”
AT&T says it is working with the Department of Education and the City Council to show “There’s a Soul Behind that Screen” at town hall meetings across the city this fall.
