With the scorching summer heat upon us, one restaurant owner is helping residents stay cool with a hidden waterfront getaway.
The Ice House Café is located right off I-295 in Throgs Neck.
What many visitors are calling a homey, local secret is a small restaurant with a view of the Locust Point Marina. It offers a fresh selection of seafood dishes.
The owner tells News 12 that all of the fish is delivered fresh every three days.
“This is a beautiful opportunity for you to see the bridge, be on the water, you know … see this part of the Bronx. A lot of people don't know we're here,” says owner Theresa Dambinskas.
