SUNSET PARK -

A Sunset Park playground has reopened with new equipment and added amenities.

The work wrapped up at the end of July, and Thursday marked its official unveiling. City Councilman Carlos Menchaca and Mayor Bill de Blasio allocated funds for the $3.22 million project.

The playground features new slides and swings, a sandbox area, spray shower and adventure equipment.

Many children who frequented the previous setup say it wasn't entertaining or comfortable, but the new equipment makes the whole experience much more enjoyable.
