Construction workers unearth human remains in East Flatbush

Human remains were found in Brooklyn after construction workers worked to replace a sewer, officials say.
The discovery was made Monday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. near Clarkson Avenue and East 49th Street.
Police say the construction crew was repairing a sewer while using an excavator when they unearthed the remains about 12 to 13 feet below ground.
Investigators are working to identify the person and they say they are unsure how long the remains were underground.
The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.
Officials believe the remains could possibly have been a disturbed burial site, but they say it could be weeks before more information is known
