Graduates of the Coney Island Sideshow School are ready to safely swallow swords, spit fire, walk on glass and drive nails into their face.
There's a common misconception that many of the techniques are simply illusions, but instructors insist that all their acts are genuine.
"There's no tricks to them," says Adam Realman. "We teach them the safest way to do things."
The seven students studied their crafts intently for three days at the class, which is only offered once a year.
A piece of cinder block is given as the official diploma.
