With images of Hurricane Harvey’s destruction impacting so many worldwide, an effort out of Brownsville hopes to help the storm’s young victims.
The benefit began when local radio host Tichina Majors was watching the news with her nieces and nephews, and they decided that they needed to help.
The effort began with a simple flyer that turned into people from all around Brooklyn donating.
Majors and her family have collected sneakers, socks, jackets, jeans and much more to send down to Texas on Sunday.
Majors says the benefit was made possible with the help of other DJs and artists in the community.
