Foundation in honor of fallen NYPD detective provides kids with backpacks

A foundation in honor of a fallen police NYPD detective is providing about 600 kids with brand new backpacks in Brooklyn.
It's been nearly three years since Detective Rafael Ramos and his partner Wenjian Liu were shot and killed as they sat in their cruiser in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Their legacy is now living on through a foundation set up in Ramos' honor by his widow, Maritza Ramos.
The foundation gave out hundreds of backpacks to kids as P.S. 59.
Officers from across north Brooklyn were on hand, along with some of the kids' favorite superheroes.
Maritza Ramos was on hand at the event, as well as Lisa Tuozzolo, the widow of Detective Paul Tuozzolo, an NYPD officer killed in the Bronx.
