An affordable and supportive housing development coming to Flatbush has almost reached its conclusion.
The Doe Fund and Crystal Ball LLC announced the official topping-out ceremony for Crystal Tower, which began construction on Rogers Avenue in May 2016. An American flag now sits atop it.
The eight-story building will have about 90,000 square feet of residential space, on-site clinical case management and other supportive services and amenities.
The development is slated to provide more than 100 new apartments -- a mix of studio and one-, two- and three-bedroom units for low-income individuals and families. More than half of the new apartments will be reserved for formerly homeless individuals and families.
The work is expected to be completed in June 2018.
