The NYPD's top brass met with community members in Brooklyn Friday, as police hope to bridge the gap between the public and law enforcement.

People of all faiths gathered at God's Battalion of Prayer church to discuss issues related to society.

"There were some great questions, specifically about the neighborhood policing program," said NYPD Commissioner James O'Neill. "We talked about domestic violence. We talked about dealing with emotionally disturbed people. These are all timely subjects."

This marked the third forum and third city borough visited as part of an effort for the NYPD to engage with the community.

Forums in Staten Island and Queens are scheduled for this fall.
