A member of the Brooklyn Historic Railway Association believes a busy intersection in Cobble Hill is in danger of collapsing.

Bob Diamond, from the Brooklyn Historic Railway Association, says the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Court Street is in danger of being swallowed into an abandoned railroad tunnel below.

Diamond says that for the past six weeks, he has seen a manhole cover there slowly sinking four inches below the road level.  He says he’s worried that in a couple months, a truck will drive through and cause the manhole to completely sink.

Diamond says he reached out to 311 multiple times and has filed complaints with the DOT and MTA.

A spokesperson for the MTA tells News 12 that they did investigate the manhole and says that while it is sinking slightly, it's not in danger of collapsing.
