Art gallery opens at Green-Wood Cemetery

A Green-Wood Cemetery building is being repurposed as an art gallery.
Artist Matthew Jensen gathered old photographs and landscape paintings to showcase. He also created a map of all the beech trees at the property.
"Some of the photographs are not intended to be art," Jensen says. "They are photographs that surveyors took but they're also really beautiful because they're 100 years old now. Then there's artifacts and objects, maps and books and so I looked through all that information."
The building was previously used as a storage facility for 60 years.
Once a month until Nov. 26, people can also take a walk with Jensen and a staff member to look more closely at monuments and landscapes at the cemetery.
