Police search for man wanted for stealing items for elderly man's home

BROOKLYN -

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted for questioning in connection to a burglary back on Sept. 8.

Investigators say the incident happened around 3 p.m. on Avenue W inside of the Marlboro Houses.

They say a suspect knocked on the door of a 79-year-old man's apartment.

The man opened the door and the suspect walking inside, talking a Samsung galaxy phone and lamp shade before running away.

The victim says before the incident, the same man was standing next to him in the lobby of the building in front of the elevator.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
