Brownsville program helps employ reformed youth

A new initiative in Brownsville is looking to provide young adults with prior brush-ins with the law another shot at success.
The eight-week program meets three times a week and uses a variety of seminars to prepare the 18- to 24-year-olds for the workforce. This is accomplished by practicing for interviews, working on cover letters and learning how to dress for work.
The nonprofit Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow teamed up with the Brownsville Community Justice Center to bring the initiative to an area they say needed it most.
By the end of the program, the goal is have all 10 students find some sort of employment. News 12 is told that some of them could even find a job with the nonprofit itself.
