An urban farm stand is providing fresh produce to Brooklyn residents, but it's also giving them an opportunity to gain work experience.
The stand opened outside Irving Square in Bushwick on the corner of Wilson and Hasley Avenue.
Officials from Grow NYC teamed up with organizers at Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow to provide fresh food to neighborhoods who lack access to it, but also to give volunteers a working experience.
"They are getting on the job training dealing with customer services; they're dealing with money; they're dealing with produce with foods and other areas," Richard Mumith with Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow says.
The stand is opened every Friday through October.
