NYCHA selects Cooper Park Houses for overhaul

Posted: Updated:
BROOKLYN -

NYCHA has announced the next beneficiary of its Next Generation Neighborhoods program to be the Cooper Park Houses between Morgan and Debevoise avenues.

The project involves a 50-50 split between market-rate and affordable housing units, with new units to be placed over the current parking lot.

Officials say no current residents will have to move or see an increase in their rent.

NYCHA says it will release its request formally in the spring and expects to choose a developer by the end of next year.
