A 19-year-old man was shot by a police officer Thursday night in East Flatbush after flashing what turned out to be a BB gun.
Police officers from the 67th Precinct showed up at the Zayn Deli on Church Avenue around 10 p.m. after reports of a man with a gun. When they approached the man, identified as Naeem Graham, they saw the weapon and gave chase. One officer fired a shot, striking Graham in the leg.
Graham has a criminal history that includes a robbery four years ago.
A neighbor who declined to appear on camera says Graham lives nearby and is a good person who got himself into a bad situation.
Graham remains in Kings County Hospital in critical condition. He has not been charged.
