A new safe space is now open in the borough for members of the LGBTQ community.
The Brooklyn Community Pride Center officially opened this week at its new location in Bed-Stuy.
The center moved to the new location to have more space, and also to better help those struggling.
Center officials say Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights have the highest HIV infection rates in the city.
Until about six weeks ago, the center was in downtown Brooklyn.  Those who work at the center say they can tell the new location is going to allow them to make an even greater impact.
The center says its main objective is to reduce isolation, and get people to come out and have some face-to-face conversations.
