The stench emanating from a dumpster near the Grand Concourse is growing by the day and has neighbors holding their breath.
Neighbors say a dumpster was placed on Grant Avenue, between East 166th and McClellan streets after a fire about a month ago. But those flames are long gone, and the dumpster remains.
Betty Crawford, president of the Grant Avenue Block Association, says it has become the neighborhood dumping ground. Despite calls to 311, she says nothing has been done about it, adding that the dumpster is also taking up parking space.
A Department of Sanitation worker tells News 12 that the dumpster is set to be removed on Monday.
News 12 reached out to the company labeled on the dumpster, which says it is looking into the issue.
