Bull runs amok in Prospect Park

An unusual suspect running amok Tuesday in Prospect Park forced the NYPD to take the bull by the horns.
Video from Chopper 12 captured the bovine running through a field while police tried to ensure the safety of bystanders. After giving authorities the runaround, the bull was tranquilized and safely removed from the area.
Bystanders tell News 12 that many people were hollering at the officers, begging them to be careful with the animal. The bull was taken to an animal sanctuary, as it is no longer suitable for consumption due to being tranquilized.
Police say the bull made a break from a slaughterhouse, but its location and the means of escape were not divulged.
The NYPD Special Ops Twitter account had a little fun with the situation, tweeting the bull had been benched before Tuesday's Yankees game.
Police say the bull at one point struck a child, possibly a 2-year-old boy, in a stroller. The child was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
