Crown Heights building collapse hurts at least 6 workers

Work came to screeching halt at a Crown Heights construction site Tuesday when at least six people were hurt in a partial building collapse.
The incident happened on Park Place around 10 a.m. The FDNY arrived within minutes and found that six of the nine construction workers at the scene were injured.
"A concentrated load of cinder block was placed on the roof level in a concentrated area," says the FDNY's Wayne Cartwright. "There was too much weight to support it and it collapsed into the basement."
Four workers were in serious condition, and two others suffered minor injuries.
The city Department of Buildings will determine whether the site is safe for continued work.
