279 probationary FDNY firefighters graduate
A total of 279 probationary firefighters graduated Wednesday at the Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn.
The graduates focused on medical responses, as well as collapsed and confined space rescues during their training.
There were four women among the graduates, bringing the total number of female FDNY firefighters up to 68 -- a historic high.
The female graduates are also mothers. They will be assigned to posts in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Staten Island.
